Cold Weather is Here!
You know cold weather is coming when there is a “nip” in the air and folks are planting pansies! If you drive by the main branch of the Commercial Bank, at the corner of Crawford & East Jackson Street, you can see the temperature and you’ll also notice the freshly planted pansy patch there as well. Let’s watch the pansies grow and enjoy the cooler weather.

Another Fall Festival Coming Up …
The 29th Annual Mini-Marathon and Fall Festival is coming up this Saturday in beautiful downtown Boston, Georgia. This wonderful community has a warm, fuzzy hometown feeling with a certain charm that makes you want to stay and visit. The festival begins bright and early with a pancake breakfast at 7:00 a.m. followed at 8:00 a.m. with the walk/run events. Arts and Craft vendors will be everywhere …. food vendors too! The parade starts at 11:30 and the streets will be lined with lots of visitors and locals. Boston even has a haunted house (it is soooo scary!) which will be opening Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday at noon. Enjoy the afternoon & evening with live entertainment at Watt Park. And stay around for the announcement of the winners of the chili and cornbread cookouts at 8:00. Enjoy your day …. it will be a great one!
What are you gonna do for lunch today?
This is the question floating around our office starting about 11ish. We start going through the “list of choices”. Last week, Lisa Taylor (RE/MAX agent/daughter) and I decided to try one of the new restaurants in town that is open for lunch on Wednesday through Saturday. Moon Spin is located one block off of Jackson Street in Downtown Thomasville. We had York Style pizza and it was delicious.
They serve it by the slice and offer a great assortment of toppings. The folks at the next table had calzones … they were huge! Can’t wait to go back and try one. I shutter to think of how many Weight Watcher points are in a calzone from Moon Spin. The atmosphere is charming and the servers are “johnny on the spot”. Moon Spin is definitely on our “where to eat lunch list”. So check it out!
P.S. It’s open for dinner too!

BUSY SATURDAY INDEED
From Julie Bryan:
There is absolutely no reason to be bored or lonely this Saturday! The Fly-In will be at the Thomasville, Regional Airport and it is going to be so much fun with aircraft rides, getting up close to a variety of classic & modern airplanes. Go early and eat breakfast at the airport.
Then hop on over to Coolidge for the Wagon Days. Celebrate fall with arts and crafts, entertainment and food! Don’t forget to go to Marshall Trace, Marcia Demoga’s Subdivision - Fred Busbee, RE/MAX of Thomasville: the listing agent will be there to welcome you to this subdivision of fine homes. These homes are quality built with the amenities of more expensive homes…lots of attentions to details.
Downtown Thomasville (www.downtownthomasville.com) is hosting Art on the Bricks from 10 - 4 at the Thomas County historic courthouse. This sale features artist displaying and selling their unique artistry. And once again there will be food and entertainment.
At night if you’re not “bone tired” head out to the Deep South Fair which is once again being sponsored by the Thomasville Exchange Club. The doors open at 4:00 and Saturday is “Kids Day”. The Exchange Club has promoted the fair for over 50 years and the proceeds this year go into a fund for abused children (now that is another topic for later).
Get a good nights rest Friday night.
See you Saturday and let’s talk real estate.
Sunday Afternoon at Pebble Hill
From Julie Bryan:
The Fall Sampler at Pebble Hill Plantation on Sunday was absolutely grand!! Once again, the weather was beautiful .. a little hot, but there was a nice breeze. The Fall Sampler is a family event and that it was! Mr. Terrell Singletary was there with his “petting animals” … donkeys, goats and even a pig. All the children enjoyed feeding them. This year there were two pony rides to accommodate the huge number of children. The Thomas the Train ride was also a big hit to the little kids as the driver chugged the train on a path under the big Pebble Hill oak trees. More activities were face painting, coloring book stations, puppet shows, a Calvary drill, horse wagon rides, Bluegrass music, dog retrieving demonstrations, flower arranging by Jimmy Singletary, hay wagon rides, fly fishing demonstrations, food vendors and more.
Thank you Pebble Hill for making more family memories … See Macy Taylor, my granddaughter below, enjoying the day. Hope to see you next year at the 10th Fall Sampler!
