Thomasville’s 87th annual Rose Show and Festival 3- day event kicked off last night with the theme “The Sizzlin’ ’70s … Friday Night Fever.”

On Thursday evening the 30th annual Children’s Rose Bud Parade, which features hundreds of area children made it’s way down the brick paved streets of downtown Thomasville.

Things keep looking rosy Friday as the 87th annual Rose Show, which continues Saturday, includes the crowning of Miss Thomasville as Georgia’s Rose Queen. The festival show features hundreds of hybrid rose varieties exhibited from growers throughout the Southeast.

The festival’s 10th annual Street Dance will follow the two-day 60th annual Rose Parade and the two-day 2nd annual Orchids on Parade Friday.

The final day of festivities begins bright and early Saturday with the 31st annual Rose City 10K Run and 1-Mile Run.

Afterward, the 67th annual Civic Garden Club Flower Show.

All day Saturday, Art in the Park features arts, crafts, food and children’s activities.

Saturday’s Bark in the Park also gives dog lovers a chance to show off their pets.

The 6th annual City of Roses Car and Truck Show will also feature award-winning cars and trucks Saturday.

Also slated for Saturday is Jump for the Roses, an equestrian dressage and jumping show held at Pebble Hill Plantation.

Food will be available for purchase throughout the Rose Show and Festival from vendors and restaurants.

RE/MAX of Georgia Regional Services will be presenting a 3 Hour Continuing Education Class on Strategies for Marketing with Technology.  The class will be presented on Wednesday, April 30th at RE/MAX of Thomasville, Inc. in the Training Room.

Jonathan Herron will be the instructor for this three-hour training course which will provide sales associates the tools and knowledge to market themselves and their listings, through various technologies and tools made available to them through RE/MAX International.  The agents will also have a working knowledge of how to generate and cultivate leads, as well as an introduction on how to increase their marketing visibility on the internet.

This 3-hour Continuing Education class if offered FREE to any RE/MAX Associate.
