RE/MAX of Georgia Regional Director, Don Dowd visited RE/MAX of Thomasville, Inc. on Tuesday, March 25th.  This was his first visit to RE/MAX of Thomasville in their new facilities and was extremely impressed.  “This may be the nicest RE/MAX office facility in the state of Georgia.”

While in Thomasville Don shared great new tools that are available to RE/MAX Associates, as well as updates on ongoing programs.  He also shared that REMAX.com now has 95% off ALL real estate listings nationally as well as being the #2 website portal for real estate searches.

In television advertising RE/MAX advertising makes up 52% of the total TV ads on real estate.

Broker/Owner Julie Bryan of RE/MAX of Thomasville, Inc. was featured in the Thomasville Times Enterprise on Sunday, March 23rd.  The special section entitled “The Pulse” featured information on the real estate market in Thomasville, Georgia.

The featured article on Julie Bryan and RE/MAX of Thomasville included information on the market conditions, tips for buyers, photos of RE/MAX activities including Children’s Miracle Network, our Moving Truck, and homes in various price ranges. 

This Thursday, March 20th, Thomasville Crimestoppers will be holding a barbecue fundraiser at the Jail Justice Center in Thomasville from 5:00 pm until 7: 00 pm.

Tickets for the fundraiser are only $7.00 and may be purchased at the Jail Justice Center from 8 am until 5 pm.  The Jail Justice Center in Thomasville is located at 921 Smith Avenue.

The Barbecue plates will consist of pulled pork, baked beans, corn on the cob, bread and cake.  Plates will be available in the parking lot on Thursday between 5 pm and 7 pm.

Proceeds will go to help Thomasville Crimestoppers fund proactive prevention programs available to youth and adults in 2008.

Recent statistics published by the National Association of Realtors show that we have more houses for sale than we’ve had in quite a while.  Activity is typically slow across the country as we come out of the winter months.  We should expect to see an increase in housing inventory this month as people prepare their home for a spring sale.  There are a lot of unique opportunities in the Thomasville, Georgia housing market.  The Federal Reserve has lowered the discount rate and the mortgage rates have followed to a certain degree.  Rates are still some of the lowest they’ve been in over forty years.  Combining these low rates with today’s great housing inventory creates a unique market especially suited for buyers!

 Now with that said, we should also point out that there are some brand new lending practices this year that affect both buyers and sellers, and some people are going to be taken by surprise.  The new change is called the AMC or Adverse Market Charge.  This is a quarter point charge applied to all loans to be guaranteed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, and are already adopted into conforming loan prices.
